Teacher: Lori

"Draw your students learning science."

Strand 5: Participate in scientific activities and learning practices with others, using scientific language and tools.

Score = 4

A score of four was assigned to this drawing because it included evidence of learning with others, the use of scientific tools and the use of scientific language. Students are seated around a table and the comment bubbles indicate they are engaged in discourse with one another. For example, one student comments, "To measure liquid in a beaker you have to find the meniscus." Another student responds, "But how do you find the mansicus (sic)?" Scientific tools such as beakers are available on the desks for students to measure the liquids. They were drawn using scientific language such as the terms beaker and meniscus.
