In this drawing, students are illustrated outdoors observing worms using materials such as a magnifying glass and a balance. The presence of materials was evidence for manipulation. The students were exploring outdoors and the use of a magnifying glass suggested they were engaged in observation. The drawing demonstrated evidence of manipulation, exploration and observation which resulted in a score of three for this strand.
